摘要： A disposable assembly allows the introduction of a catheter into small vesselssuch as the radial artery of a patient. The introducer assembly is contained in a sterilepackage and is comes out as a unit which comprises a needle (1), a catheter (2), a guidewire (15) and a feed device guidewire (16). The catheter is mounted on the insertionneedle (1), the tip (5) of the needle extending slightly beyond the catheter tip (2). A guidetube (12) extends rearwardly from a hub (6) on the rear part of the needle. The guidewire(15) is mounted in the tube with an actuating handle of the guidewire projecting throughan elongated slot (13) formed in the sidewall of the tube. In use, the needle (1) is insertedfirst into the vessel hole. then advanced over the guide (15) with the actuating handle (16)as far as possible in the vessel. then advances the catheter to track the guidewire in thevessel to the desired position. Then, the elastic yarn guide (15), the needle (1) and theassembly of yarn guides (3) are removed and the catheter is connected to the desiredequipment.
